John Muthyala, Digital Liberal Arts

On March 9, 2023, at the invitation of The Third Place, John Muthyala presented on Maine Digital Collaborative.

The Third Place brings together professionals from underrepresented groups in Maine to network, share ideas, and collaborate. Its meetings are usually held at the Portland Media Center in downtown Portland, Maine. Muthyala explained the mission and strategy of Maine Digital Collaborative, inviting broad participation with community leaders interested in creatively using digital techologies to foreground the achievements and contributions of underrepresented groups in Maine and beyond. Discussing the digital humanities, he underscored digital equity and inclusivity as social drivers to negotiate the rapid, dramatic, and disruptive nature of global digital disruption.
